Why did you only use certain types of collagen?

Our Collagen Type 1 & 3 comes from wild-caught fish from the waters surrounding Iceland as well as the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea, and other cold, Northern waters. Our Collagen Type 2 comes from wild-caught fish off the coast of France.

This product focuses on these types of collagen because other types, like 5 & 10 are not available from fish, only other animals like cows. 

We decided to use marine collagen because compared to other animal sources, we believe wild-caught marine collagen is the best choice because collagen from fish tends to be similar to the collagen in the human body. This makes it safe and easy for the body to use. The skin of fish is also a valuable source of collagen that often goes to waste. So, using it is good for you and for our food system.

Plus, as you may know, collagen is only sourced from animals. So, if you don’t eat meat (or want to eat less meat) marine collagen is your best option!
